As Intaglio Composites makes it's introduction into the world of Interior Design, we were given the opportunity to show off our design skills in the 2nd Annual CRE8 Design Challenge and Fashion Show benefiting CASA. held in Dallas, Texas by the IIDA, Dallas and Oklahoma chapters.

As our work generally does not include awards, this request was definitely a challenge especially as an introduction to the market for the first time.


First to understand our challenge one would have to understand the contest challenge. That challenge is to take a predetermined theme, along with materials donated from firms traditionally supplying the interior design market and creating a costume that would be judged for its various levels of uniqueness.

Those materials include fabrics, upholstery materials, construction materials, etc.

Using this information we set out to create a group of awards that would best represent this idea.

The piece shown is engraved aluminum, anodized, bent to give the appearance of material and anodized aluminum wire used as thread to create the logo. Then the piece is pinmounted of a crushed glass background in a simnple walnut frame.
